Bezugnehmend auf Charles Darwins Buch über die Entstehung der Arten, und die natürliche Selektion und den Kampf um die Existenz stellt sich Cie.OFEN die Frage, wie verhalten wir uns, wenn wir auf uns allein gestellt sind. Ist es in einer Situation auf Leben und Tod auch möglich unser Gegenüber gewaltfrei außer Kraft setzen? Die Choreografie ursprünglich von Gala Moody und Michael Carter selbst interpretiert wird in der Edition für das Museum Folkwang von Jan Möllmer & Iker Arrue getanzt.

In reference to Charles Darwin's book 'On the Origin of Species', his theory of natural selection and the struggle for existence, Cie.OFEN examines our behavior that we exhibit, once we're left to fight for ourselves. Is it possible, once it's a matter of life and death, to overcome our opponent without using force? Jan Mollmer & Iker Arrue perform in an edition specially arranged for the Museum Folkwang that was originally performed by Gala Moody and Michael Carter.

 

Cie.OFEN Stationen auf Gala Moodys und Michael Carters Karriere waren u.a. die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Australian Ballet, Romeo Castellucci, Ultima Vez, Compania National de Danza/Nacho Duato, Pieter Ampe/KVS. Danach setze Gala Moody ihre künstlerische Arbeit als freischaffende Choreographin und Tänzerin fort. Michael Carter ist seit 2015 Mitglied des Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
